Rio was born into a multi-ethnic family. His late Muslim father was born to a pedicab driver in Nogosari village, Jember - Indonesia who started his career as a bus conductor.

Athlete
His childhood was characterized by strict discipline geared towards becoming a badminton athlete. He actively participated in physical training for 5 hours every day.

First Site
During his teenage years, one of his brothers took him to an internet cafe and this was the beginning of his interest in computers and the internet. He created his first website selling DVDs & magic tools.

Outstanding Salesman
After finishing school, he decided to retire from athletics, went to the capital and became a salesman. He became one of the outstanding young salesmen.

From his international experience, he applied his strategies to the Indonesian market. He established an e-commerce focused on dog pet products. This e-commerce generated sales exceeding 15 billion.

Education
While doing business, he pursued his education at the Indonesian campus - Binus University. Besides formal education, he also took additional disciplines including financial literacy, Startup School from Y Combinator USA, and an online program on Artificial Intelligence from HarvardX.

Discipline in the world of athletes, mindset and forging from the world of door to door sales, education in the world of computers to his success in the world of internet marketing makes Rio a figure of entrepreneurs and business consultants who have a broad and sharp perspective in today’s modern era.
Company
With his achievements in the internet marketing world in 2015, many individuals from abroad and Indonesia began to contact Rio Gunawan via Facebook to learn how he managed to achieve such success.
Although he consistently rejected these requests, it was not until a company executive contacted him to offer him an opportunity as an Advisor in the company that he realized that his knowledge and experience could have an impact on growth.
Seeing this, his friends encouraged and invited him to establish a marketing consulting company in 2016. This initiative formed the basis for the formation of Digital Entrepreneur & Digital Platform Indonesia which eventually came under one name, VUTURI.
